About

I have created two websites: a "personal" one for my family, for my professional interests, small writings about them, galleries, a contact page, etc., and to help me with my tasks by collecting important links in one place - and a site for people who find me through an important hobby of mine (https://ha3flt.hu).
As for the appearance, while I will not put animated gifs from the nineteen eighties on these pages, the oldschool and anti-material looking minimal design is intentional, enjoy it. :-) The "hand-coded", mostly CSS-only, but fully responsive and mostly WCAG-compliant style I used to create these pages is a good opportunity to learn the nuances of HTML5+CSS3.
Also, there is no database, no content management system to update on a daily basis and occasionally fix broken tables in the database afterwards. So, I use simple, peaceful static pages with some JavaScripts e.g. to hide personal data from automated collection, and some CSS frameworks, mainly for the sake of effortless compatibility between browsers, and for some ideas. Some PHP codes may also be used where necessary.
The images used for illustration are my own. As far as giving scarce instructions to a complex machine that completes my request by adding many more parameters to it to create something that is like an imagination on my theme, can be called as "my own". I've been a ChatGPT subscriber for a year so far, and apart from how much it's accelerated my access to different skills, I've had a lot of fun making pictures with Dall·E 3 for months.
My websites and emails are hosted on a VPS I rent. Since administering such a server for optimal and secure performance is a bit new to me, let me tell you how much software and solutions I use to do it: Dovecot, Postfix with Sieve, SpamAssassin, DKIM/SPF/DMARC, PGP signing, apache2 with ModSecurity and CRS 4, Munin, AppArmor, Fail2ban, iptables and nft, Squid, Let's Encrypt certs, far2l, etc. - The latter is the Linux version of the beloved FAR Manager by a different group, I even contributed a function by myself to toggle the hiding of dotfile directories on the panels with Ctrl+h... :-)
So, let's see that biography... (Under construction!)

I'm over fifty-five now, ...
I started out as an electrician, repairing a lot of 80's electronic equipment, but changed careers and have spent over 35 years in programming and systems programming at this point.
I still enjoy learning RF technologies as a hobby, and I'm always homebrewing ham, audio and digital gadgets in my small but well-equipped shack. I enjoy quality literature and classical music - there is no mature mind without true aesthetics.
